Your physician
Matthew Sachs, MD, MPH, MBA — board-certified in both Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry, practicing by secure video across Virginia and North Carolina.
Most psychiatric appointments are too short to be useful. Fifteen minutes is enough to renew a prescription and not much else. This practice was built the other way around: a first appointment long enough to take a genuine history, and follow-ups with the same physician who took it.
Dr. Sachs is board-certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and in Adult Psychiatry, which means he treats across the lifespan — a parent and a teenager can both be seen by the same physician, and the developmental picture is never guesswork.
You choose your own appointment times online, from whatever is open — no phone tag with an office, no waiting for someone to call you back with a slot that does not work. Pick the time that fits your week.
He also serves as community faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he teaches psychiatric residents. Teaching keeps a clinician honest: it requires you to explain why you are doing what you are doing.
